As we were reminded in the sermon on March 16, we are soldiers in a war in which there are no picnics or furloughs, and where the commands are not “safe.” How do you help your children understand the dark days when believers (including children) in other parts of the globe are being murdered for their faith? Or when your family faces a crisis? Books are helpful resources, but they are not adequate to fill the longing of our souls to understand the pain.
